Hand-Painted Linen Scottish Flag made by Edgington's Factory in Sidcup, London (please see photos 4 & 5 where artist were preparing flags & banners at Edgington for Queen Elizabeth's Coronation in 1952).
This flag would be for a particular big event around the 1950s & 1960s. The flag pole was possibly longer OR inserted into another pole and carried. What we have here seems shorter if compared to the flag. The flag is linen, hand- painted. It does have age wear throughout, with some small holes & spots in one small section (please see photo close up), but otherwise its bright and beautiful. Dimension:-
Pole - 70cm (length)
Flag - 83cm (width) x 43cm (height).
For anyone wanting to make an offer, please do so but if we could kindly request consideration on all the above, and the fact that this is a rare item and the price is in ringgit so is it really worth pressing a dealer down who is trying to sell good antique items that is not normally so affordable anywhere else. Thank You.
