Ancient Bronze & Iron Keris with Bird Head Hilt
Incredibly beautiful ancient Keris. The hilt is of a Bird Head with scroll motif which reminds me of Portuguese era or something or something. I am scratching my head a little but i feel in my gut its a good one. I also feel something about it feels its Malay People of Malaya and not Malay Aceh or Sumatera. Very fine work on the bird head. Acquired from a foreign collector who told me that its extremely old, has history, do own research hahaha. Condition: The Bird Head is loose from the blade but looking at it i think it was forged separately anyway. Over the years someone has glued it i see traces of old glue but luckily nobody tried to get it welded. This can be done, but as it is still intact if placed carefully but long term best to have it at least glued with something stronger and suitable with metal. But no issue really. Other than that no damage but the most incredibly beautiful patina from age. Really a truly special piece which i had put up for sale earlier than changed my mind and now changed my mind again because its my job. Im a dealer and anything special must be shared and offered to other people first i must remember. 30cm (length).
