Masterfully constructed circa 1930s in the Renaissance Revival Flemish Style - the armrest and leg sections are ornately hand carved, with the noticeably Lion's Paw Foot of Flanders (Flemish Region, Belgium), and boasts of vintage needlepoint upholstery (combo of blue and red floral motif) which has been sympathetically restored (seat section).
The type of wood is walnut and the frame is still solid. All carvings are complete and undamaged. This large, sturdy Belgian-made chair has retained its original polish, resulting in a visually pleasing colouration and patina that can only be achieved through proper care for almost 100 years. Overall and for its age, the chair is in good condition, and is ready to be used as is.
Dimension: 47 in. (h) x 27 in. (d) x 27 in. (w)
I bought this stunning antique European chair from the Troc'n'Roll antique warehouse (www.trocnroll.be) in Brussels five years ago. You might not find another such one-of-a-kind chair in Malaysia.
You are welcome to view the item to appreciate.
