The aim of this book is to provide a concise, easy-to-use guide to the history of the faiths and religions of the world. It shows the histories of the major religions in parallel, across the pages of a chronological diagram. This enables the reader to see how each religion was faring at any given moment in time. The timeline, which begins at about 4000 BCE, when evidence points to the first identifiable civilizations appearing, is prefaced by a selection of creation myths and legends. It ends at the present day, with the events and issues of our modern world in the twenty-first century.
